Attending a group with others who have lost someone can give those participating an opportunity to listen and/or share their feelings in a safe and supportive setting. Bereavement groups can help reduce feelings of isolation and make it possible to understand how grief differs for all individuals. Understanding grief and its effects can allow you to cope more effectively and support those around you while still protecting your own grieving process.

These bereavement groups are for anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no matter when or how the loss occurred.

For many people, going along to a support group is a huge step and can be very difficult. There can be a lot of nerves around who is there, what people will think, what’s going to happen, and what you will get out of being there, if anything. Rest assured, we (and other group members, especially any regulars at the time!) understand the challenge of going to group and talking to strangers. However, there is so much to gain from walking your journey of grief with others who understand you and will support you on your journey towards recovery.

You don’t have to register for support groups as walk ins are welcome. If you do wish to register, you may do so at the bottom of this page.
